Academic Journal submissions
The academic journal offers PPLE students the opportunity to share their research, ideas and opinions with the rest of the PPLE community. We are thrilled to announce that submissions to the second issue are open as of January 9th, 2023. Check out last year’s version here.
In order to submit, please upload your contribution to Google Drive or We Transfer and share the link with us in the form below. In order to submit you will also have to answer a few questions about yourself and your paper.
Do you have any questions? There is a short FAQ at the bottom of this page! If your question is not answered, please feel free to send us an email at tdp-pple@uva.nl. We are looking forward to read your papers!

What is the TDP Academic Journal?
We as the editorial board believe that there are plenty of brilliant ideas, opinions, and interests in the PPLE community that deserve to be showcased beyond the classroom. In other words, your academic work should not be wasted on a Canvas upload and grade!
We as the TDP Academic Journal want to give you the opportunity to refine your academic work and publish it in PPLE’s very own journal!
On the way, we will help you to write your best paper yet, by offering workshops & writing labs, as well as feedback and guidance throughout the editing and publishing process.
What can I get out of submitting a paper?
1. You can share your research and ideas with the broader PPLE community.
2. You will be able to take part in exclusive TDP workshops, as well as a thorough editing and peer review process that will help you improve your (academic) writing and researching skills.
3. If your essay makes it to the final journal, you will get a free printed copy.
How can I upload my paper?
Please upload your paper to Google Drive or We Transfer and share the link with us through the form at the top of this very website! The form also includes some questions about your contact details and your paper.
Is there a maximum word count?
No, however, we ask you to provide a short outline of which points you would like to expand upon during the editing process if your paper is shorter than 1500 words.
Can I submit a paper that was written by multiple authors?
Yes of course! However, we will need a confirmation by the other authors that they are on board with this decision.
Is participation in the workshops mandatory?
No, the workshops are not compulsory. They will, however, help you develop your writing and editing skills.
