Sommer Johnston
Current location: NYC
A short description: I am Sommer Johnston, a Dutch and Canadian MS Sustainability Management student. Before entering the University of Amsterdam for my undergraduate, I volunteered in the field of conservation education for a year and interned in agribusiness. During PPLE, I focused my thesis on the Rise of the Dutch Nitrogen Crisis and Challenges for Future Policy. From 2019 to 2020, I chaired the Committee of External Affairs of the Dutch United Nations Student Association, planning various events with organizations like Amnesty International, and organizing trips for members to embassies, and NGOs, such as Europol, UNICEF, and Greenpeace. I am currently studying MS Sustainability Management at Columbia University. I also take pride in being the first Director of Communication for the Sustainability Management Equity Alliance. My ambition is to enter the corporate sphere and work with consumer goods after graduating..
