“Movies that Matter aims to broaden perspectives on human rights. We use film to encourage dialogue about a just world, influence public opinion and motivate commitment to social issues and a sustainable society. We screen these films at the annual Movies that Matter Festival in The Hague (March 22-30, 2024), throughout the year in movie theaters around the country, through film festivals in countries where press freedom is at stake and - through teachers - at secondary schools and vocational schools throughout the Netherlands.
As of September 1 we are looking for an enthusiastic intern for the Events & Partnerships team (average 24 hours per week).
The Events & Partnerships team organizes year-round film screenings with in-depth information (such as introductions and after-tours). We do this with the On Tour program through which we show a selected film every month in 17 film theaters throughout the Netherlands. We also screen films in cooperation with (or commissioned by) social organizations and companies. During the annual festival in The Hague, our team is responsible for film screenings with various partners. Finally, our team advises on human rights films and the organization of screenings. The team consists of a project coordinator and a staff member.”
